CRB-UCCE Grower Seminar
Details: 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. (Registration starts at 8:15). This research seminar for growers, originally scheduled for Oct. but postponed due to the wildfires in Southern California, is co-produced by the Citrus Research Board and the citrus farm advisors of UC Co-Op Extension. Today's lineup features "6 in 60", a newscast-style session with updates on a range of current issues, and a talk by a leading UC Davis researcher on "developing a 'canary in the ooalmine' for disease detection in citrus." Rounding out the program will be a session on transitioning to organic citrus production and a session on the Positive Points System for Citrus Production which is a self-assessment tool for growers' continuing education efforts.

CCQC Annual Meeting
Details: 8:15 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. No-host luncheon 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. The 2008 Annual Meeting of the California Citrus Quality Council will include a report by CCQC President Wally Ewart, a keynote address by CCQC consultant and former USDA-APHIS official Jim Reynolds on "Citrus Greening - Don't Wait until You Get It...," and presentation of the industry's prestigious A.G. Salter Award to Dr. Beth Grafton-Cardwell.
