All oranges from all counties must be treated with the second application by Jan 26, 2009 to be eligible for export to Korea. The numbers were shown as .067 and .05, respectively. The correct application rates should have been 0.67 and .5 lbs. ( Chemical Alert on Movento & Delegate - May 2008 On March 17, CCQC announced that a third spray application of the copper-zinc-lime spray was required on all oranges (Navels/Valencias) grown in Fresno County and must be applied within 30 days for shipments to Korea after April 14, 2008. The third spray is not required at this time for all other counties. The spray instructions are shown in the tables attached. ( Korea - Second Copper Spray Treatment Dr. Jim Adaskaveg As of January 7, 2008, a second spray application of the copper-zinc-lime spray is now required and must be applied to all oranges within the next 30 days for shipments to Korea after February 4, 2008. The specifications for the spray are attached. All blocks will need to be retreated to provide the necessary protection no matter how many days have elapsed since the first spray was applied. ( Florida Sets Requirements for Organic Citrus Shipments from CA to FL The attached CDFA Phytosanitary Advisory provides current Florida requirements for certifying ORGANIC citrus for shipments from California to Florida. ( 2007/08 Korea Orange Work Plan Korea - Notice of Extension for Second Copper Spray Based on the rains and the difficulty in meeting the February 4th deadline, USDA/APHIS officials agreed to extend the deadline for the second spray until February 20th for all blocks in the Korean orange export program. Based on the disease pressure showing up in the tested fruit, we encourage everyone to apply the sprays as early as possible but no later than Feb 20. ALL ORANGE SHIPMENTS TO KOREA AFTER FEB 20TH MUST HAVE BEEN TREATED WITH THE SECOND COPPER-ZINC-LIME SPRAY BY FEB 20, 2008. ( |
